It opens bright — petitgrain and bergamot first, then tangerine, lemon and grapefruit filling in behind them. Sharp, green, alive. For about a minute you think you know what this is.
Then the tea arrives, and it doesn't.
Smoked black tea, dry and faintly bitter, curling underneath the citrus without ever putting it out. Neroli sits in the middle of the two — white, honeyed, luminous — and the whole thing settles into a contradiction it never resolves. Bright on top. Dark underneath. Neither one wins.
The base is where it earns the name. Myrrh and benzoin bring a soft resinous warmth, oakmoss keeps it green and slightly severe, and vanilla rounds the edges just enough that it reads as elegant rather than cold. Ambrette adds a powdery, skin-like finish.
The tea stays. That's the rare part — tea notes usually vanish within the hour. Here it holds through the entire wear, and it's the thing people notice.
This isn't a fragrance that arrives. It's the one that was already in the room, dressed correctly, saying nothing.
